Overview of Calibration and Quantification Service System of Domestically-Made Land SatellitesPublishDate:2022-10-31

CRESDA participated in construction of Dunhuang remote sensing radiometric rectification site from the mid-1990s, and gradually carried out the study on absolute radiometric calibration theory and workflow. Since 2002, CRESDA has begun the absolute radiometric rectification tests, and after 2005, carried out the business-based absolute radiometric calibration tests against on-orbit satellites every year, thus formally entering the absolute radiometric calibration practical application stage. In recent 10 years, CRESDA has gradually done more work on study and practice of radiometric calibration system, to improve the calibration efficiency, and enhance the calibration accuracy and frequency, and gradually established the absolute radiometric calibration and quantification system of domestically-made land observation satellites.

CRESDA regularly updates and issues the calibration coefficients of various on-orbit satellites by carrying out operation based calibration tests of on-orbit satellites and combining the crossed calibration tests, based on existing Dunhuang, Qinghai Lake, Inner Mongolia and Songshan together with other visible, infrared and microwave remote sensing calibration and rectification sites.
