.According to the directive about satellite applications outlined by Prime Minister Li peng on August 26, 1989, the China Center for Resource Satellite Data and Applications (CRESDA) was formally established in October 1991 with approval of Ministry of Personnel Affairs. The title of CRESDA was also named and inscribed by Prime Minister Li Peng. It is a scientific research and operation institution under the supervision of State Development Planning Committee and Commission of science, Technology and Industry for National Defence China Aerospace Cooperation is responsible for the administrative management of CRESDA. CBERS-1, the first in a series of earth resource satellite, was launched successfully on October 14, 1999. This Resources Satellite is a kind of " satellite for a hundred of families," including many application institutions and end-users, so the operation and use of this satellite must be under cooperative supervision by national integrated departments, The purpose and tenet of CRESDA are that CRE.
